Cheesy Garlic Bread

This cheesy garlic bread recipe is perfect for tiny fingers and tastes much better than shop-bought! By making your own garlic bread you can control how much salt is used and can season exactly to your liking. Serve as a side to homemade bolognese or lasagne or for younger babies, slice into fingers to use as a dipper to homemade tomato sauce.

Makes: 1 Baguette

Ingredients:

1 small baguette
75g unsalted butter, softened
1 tsp parsley, chopped
2 cloves of garlic, minced
30g Cheddar cheese, grated
Salt and pepper, to taste

Method:

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C.
  2. Slice the baguette, but do not cut it completely through.
  3. Mix the butter, parsley, garlic and cheese together and season to taste (omit salt for baby).
  4. Spread the mixture onto the cut surface of the bread. Close up the baguette, wrap in foil and bake for 10 minutes. For a younger baby make sure it’s not too crispy or sharp at the edges.
